Grant and Scholarship Committees
We could not do the work we do without volunteers like you!
Fill out the form below to be considered for a place on one of our grant or scholarship committees.
Blue Mountain Community Foundation is seeking thoughtful, community-minded volunteers to serve on our Grants and/or Scholarships Committee. Committee members play an important role in reviewing applications, evaluating community needs and opportunities, and helping ensure funds are awarded fairly and responsibly. Volunteers gain a deeper understanding of local nonprofits, students, and the positive impact philanthropy has throughout our region.
The time commitment is generally seasonal, with the majority of work occurring during the grant and scholarship review periods. Members can expect to spend several hours reviewing applications independently, followed by one or more committee meetings to discuss and recommend funding decisions. Most committee members contribute approximately 10–20 hours annually, depending on the number of applications received and the committee they serve on.
Committee members should be able to review materials objectively, maintain confidentiality, disclose any conflicts of interest, and participate respectfully in discussion and decision-making. Prior grantmaking or scholarship experience is not required—we welcome individuals with diverse backgrounds, professional expertise, and lived experiences who are passionate about strengthening our communities and supporting local students and nonprofits.
